What information we collect:

When you purchase from Ruby Distributing, we require your name and shipping address. We also request that you provide your phone number and email address so we can contact you in the event that becomes necessary regarding your order. If you pay via credit card, we also require your card information in order to process the card. We keep a record of your transaction history in our database as required by our accountants, but we do not keep your credit card information. We may place a temporary 'cookie' on your computer assigning you a 'order number'. This is used to allow you to put some items in the shopping cart, visit another site, and then still retain those items in the shopping cart to continue shopping. This cookie will have an expiration time of 24 hours after creation, and only stores the order number - it does not contain any personal information. If you send us correspondence, such as emails or faxes, we retain the contact information in our files.

Uses of the information:

We use your contact information to: a) provide our products to you, b) to provide customer service, c) to answer your inquiries regarding our products and services, d) to improve our products and services, and e) to communicate with you about new or changed products and services.

Only those employees of Ruby Distributing whose job functions require access to individually identifiable information are provided such access.

Ruby Distributing does not sell, rent, share, or loan your personal information to any other organization outside of Ruby Distributing with the following exceptions: a) Ruby Distributing uses a secure payment gateway for credit card transactions. When you enter your credit card information, it is transmitted directly and securely to the payment gateway for processing in real-time, as most web transactions are. (Ruby Distributing does not store, your credit card information.) The payment gateway company is prevented by law and/or by contract from disclosing your information or using it for any secondary purpose beyond the purposes for which it was transmitted to them. b) We disclose information in response to a subpoena, warrant, court order, levy, attachment, order of a court-appointed receiver or other comparable legal process, including subpoenas from private parties in a civil action. c) We disclose information that we in good faith believe is appropriate to cooperate in investigations of fraud or other illegal activity, such as stolen credit card numbers or NSF checks.

Our contact with Ruby Distributing Customers:

We communicate with our customers by shipping items to the address you specify on the order. We may email customers with questions or confirmations regarding their orders. We may email customers via our regular 'email update' newsletter, and customers have the option of being added or removed from this 'update' at any time, without otherwise affecting their status or treatment as a customer.

We restrict access to your personally identifiable information to employees who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you.
